NOTIFICATIONS – my client wants to receive automated notifications of particular data events. The Konect User Guide (4.7.1) shows how to send a text to users. Is there a way to send data-driven alerts? (alternative is to do it in Power BI).

    • Hi Pete, thanks for posting regarding this. Can you provide an example of the data event that may occur on the client side? Let me know and I will seek to provide a more detailed response.

      • Sure – the client operates a fleet of machinery to carry out field tasks. There’s a variety of forms relating to tasks, staff and machines. You can run a routine report, say weekly, to plan servicing, but let’s say a machine breaks down and needs repair. This is recorded on the form and should trigger an alert to the workshop.

    • @mattgbm or others, any update on this? Could an alert be created in the API? It can be done in Power BI, but my client has not set this up yet.

      • We have settled on using the API and a Python script in conjunction with a messaging service like Twilio. This is being done in one Konect instance we are aware of, using Power Automate.
